Our educational presentations include songs and melodies pertaining to emigration and language; both in English and Gaelic. We discuss the historical and geographical aspects of the music and language and its influence on American music. We encourage participation and hope to field questions in relation to any aspect of our work as traveling musicians and any questions the students may have in regards to historical and modern day Ireland and Scotland, where we were raised.

Some feedback…
“It was an absolutely excellent performance. Our students really enjoyed the music, you could tell because they were so attentive. In my opinion our students learned more about Irish and Scottish culture in 45 minutes, than they could have in two weeks of class time, and they will remember it much longer than they would have otherwise. Also the presenters interacted with the student body really well. They allowed the students to ask lots of questions. They also used some good humor. Great Group.”

“Men of Worth came to our School and painted a picture of music, poetry, language and life from both of their cultures. All of the technique that Men of Worth used was sound, good teaching skill. They involved our students in their songs and instrumentation. At the end of their program there was time put aside for the students to ask questions. Donnie Macdonald and James Keigher both spoke to the children about there own schools in Ireland and Scotland and brought past and present together. It was a wonderful journey for our students to have and we shall invite Men of Worth back again."
Margaret Scofani, Principal of Bel Aire Elementary School. Napa, CA
"James Keigher and Donnie Macdonald offer a unique experience of Ireland and Scotland through their schools program. By way of their stories and musical performance, James and Donnie created a vivid picture picture of life in their respective homelands. Geography, history, economics, schooldays, musical influences and instruments, cultural diversity, the life of an exile... the list goes on. James and Donnie have lived in the U.S. since the early 80's whilst maintaining an active connection with the home countries. Rapport with the students was immediate, seeds were sown, and 'question time' reaped a bountiful harvest... thoughtful questions prompted full and knowledgeable responses from James and Donnie, quietly humorous, and based on life's true experiences."
